About Us | Eat Sip Go

Meet Elliot & Tammy, the people behind every recommendation.

Our Story

“We’ve Already Been There. Now We’ll Tell You Where to Go.”

EatSipGo is the most personal project of our lives. We didn’t set out to build a brand. We set out to live fully, to taste, to explore, to discover. Over time, those experiences became something we couldn’t keep to ourselves.

It grew out of nights when we opened a bottle we’d been saving and ended up talking until midnight. Out of trips where we threw out the itinerary, rented a car in Portugal, and stayed in castles, boutique hotels, and even a converted convent. Out of the annual reset in Hawaii, or the crisp October light in New England that makes you stop mid-stride.

Eat Sip Go is our way of inviting you into those moments, not as critics or anonymous reviewers, but as fellow travelers who’ve lived it, loved it, and want you to feel it too.

A Lifetime of Travel

Elliot grew up with Europe as his backyard — His family moved from New Jersey to Geneva, Switzerland in fifth grade, and suddenly Europe wasn’t something you read about in textbooks. It was just Tuesday. Growing up, his table was shaped by a mother who cooked in the style of Julia Child and made sure we paid attention wherever we went — the carved detail above a doorway, the history behind a cathedral in Cologne, the name of the wine most people would have just called ‘red.’

Those early years shaped everything: a deep curiosity, a trained palate, and an unshakeable belief that the best meals happen when you stop ordering the safe thing. Between us, we’ve traveled throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, most of the Caribbean, and across Europe — and we still say the best journeys are always the ones still ahead.

The Story Behind Eat Sip Go

As we believe that, it took him or us, you can say, twice to get it right. We’ve been together 21 years and married for 11, and we are the best travel companions each could ask for. Before we met, Tammy’s travel experiences were mostly visits back home to Denver and Omaha. On our first trips together to New York City, then Hawaii, then the Caribbean, the spark for exploration came alive.

Portugal was our first trip outside the US. In the second week, we threw out the itinerary entirely. Rented a car, no reservations, no plan. Stayed in hotels, castles, and a converted convent.

“The best experiences rarely happen when everything is over-planned. Portugal taught us that.”

That trip proved what we now believe about travel and about life: the unexpected is almost always better than the planned.

Food, Wine & Hospitality

Cooking and wine aren’t hobbies for us. They’re how we connect. Our kitchen has always been the heart of everything. We learned early that food is how you show up for the people you love — and those recipes have anchored our family table ever since.

Wine became another lifelong passion. What started in the early 1990s grew into a cellar of more than 1,000 bottles, built around bold California reds. Cabernet Sauvignon is our true north, prized for its structure, tannins, and aging potential. Zinfandel brings its signature black pepper character, and Petite Sirah adds richness.

We’ll also be honest: we’ve never developed a taste for Pinot Noir or Burgundy, even after trying many times. Someone who tells you what they don’t love is someone whose enthusiasm, when it arrives, is real.

For us, food and wine are never about perfection. They’re about flavor, connection, and the joy of sharing.

Why We Built Eat Sip Go

After decades of traveling, eating, and drinking our way through California and beyond, we kept running into the same problem: recommendations online were either too generic or too scattered. Eat Sip Go exists to change that: to help people spend less time searching and more time experiencing.

Our vision is simple, and our goals are clear:

Inspire exploration with stories that spark curiosity

Deliver trust through firsthand, never-sponsored recommendations.

Celebrate quality by focusing only on experiences worth remembering.

Connect people who value authenticity over algorithms.

Every restaurant, winery, and destination we recommend is one we’ve sat in, returned to, and genuinely loved.

Life Beyond the Table

We are travelers, food lovers, and wine collectors, but above all, we are family. Four children. Four grandchildren. Family in Washington, D.C., and the Netherlands. Whether it’s a three-star restaurant in San Francisco or grilling on a Sunday afternoon, the people around the table always matter most.

Your Invitation

If you’ve found your way here, it’s because you love food, wine, and discovery as much as we do. There is a bottle waiting to be opened. There is a table worth booking. There is a road through wine country that looks like nothing from above and like everything once you’re on it.

We’ve already been down it. Now we’re going to tell you exactly where it leads.

Eat Sip Go.
